The office project for Building F, covering 3,000 square meters within the Tetra Pak® campus in Modena, is based on the intention to reorganize workspaces according to hot desking criteria—meaning no personal workstation assignment—and activity-based working, which involves creating spaces with characteristics that support specific activities.
Some rooms are therefore dedicated to multi-day workshops (scrum rooms), others to activities requiring large screens or meetings with multiple projections, still others for brief meetings or video conferences, and others for specialized activities. Numerous silent rooms complement the open-space areas, along with several lounge waiting zones and informal meeting rooms, allowing for alternation between work in common areas, brief informal meetings, and moments of quiet focus—for meetings of two, three, or video conferences. These are spaces characterized by strong acoustic quality and a high level of soundproofing and sound isolation from the rest of the environment.
This type of organization extends across the building’s three floors and centers around several socialization and relaxation areas equipped with kitchen and refreshment services. Some areas are completely reconfigurable, thanks to furnishings that allow for tiered seating or modular, stackable seating systems.
The entrance area also features spaces for informal micro-meetings and individual work, integrated into a shared social waiting area.
Since this is a renovation of existing buildings, the project is primarily focused on interior design, with a prevalence of glass partitions, furnishings, and suspended ceiling systems. The systems are exposed but are screened in distribution and connection zones through panels made from recycled material derived from Tetra Pak® filling machine waste: recovered paper is reassembled into a pulp, 3D-printed, and generates a custom-designed wave pattern capable of creating visual screening and integrating lighting in connection and circulation areas.
The choice of materials, in general, favors a multisensory result, with sound-absorbing felts, wood and cork flooring, and three-dimensional finishes, in an effort to give the work environment a natural, welcoming, and soft appearance.
